Dear Friend

Welcome to the first e-news update from Breathe One Love. I’ll be sending these out periodically to update you on upcoming shows and other art related news. Upcoming Show

The BE/coming Show is making a second round. If you missed the first one and haven’t had a chance to see the artwork, now’s your chance to see all the pieces together in one place. Come by for an hour or two and enjoy good company, food/drinks and art. There will be an art table set up for kids (and cool adults) in the backyard. And for those of you who made it for the first show, come again! There is always more to see…

Now you can buy artwork from me. I’m registered with the State of California to sell to anyone in the world. Exciting. I'll share a price list soon for the current work. And stay tuned for additional Breathe One Love artwork and products coming your way in the next few months.
 

Artist Statement

People often ask me my intention with the various pieces and this question is always fun but slightly difficult to answer. Each piece has so many angles from which it can be viewed, interpreted and understood. So my answers vary, depending on the day. And really, my view does not matter. Your view does. What do you see? Why? What does the piece say to you?

That said, in this part of the newsletter I’ll share a few thoughts each time about a completed piece or one that I’m currently working on. Because the journal figure was the beginning of this whole new direction in my life, I’ll start there.

With this piece, I layered on years of words I had written from every phase/stage of my life. The beauty and the harshness. Nothing was left out. What is revealed is a human being struggling to understand itself, it’s mind and emotions, it’s place in the world, and wanting to know, wanting to have answers. Why is the world this way? Then, on impulse, I started inserting the word "Love" all over the body. A revelation. Suddenly, it was clear. This love that surrounds us and is us, is in us, in every cell and breath of our body, no matter what is happening, no matter how we feel or what we are doing, whether I am aware of it or not - still the love is there, constant.
